Children receive small group instruction for 40 minutes, once a week, during April and May. The program covers concepts about print, letter and sound identification, rhyming and shared writing.

Early Reading Intervention (E.R.I.) - is designed for grade 1 and 2 students who are having difficulty with reading . E.R.I. teachers identify students and work with them individually for half an hour, 4 - 5 times a week, for a period of 16 to 20 weeks.

Enhanced Learning Assistance (E.L.A.) - students with learning disabilities who exhibit a 2 year delay in Language Arts and/or Math are identified through psycho-educational testing. Students receive small group or individual differentiated instruction within their classroom for Language Arts and/or Math. Learning strategies are provided as required.

L.I.N.K.S. - (Learning Individual Needs, Knowledge and Skills) - special needs students from grades 1 to 6 work on Individual Program Plans designed to meet the student's learning difficulties. The school and LINKS classroom are wheelchair accessible.

French as a Second Language - is a compulsory course for students in grades 4 to 6. Each grade level has four periods of French a week, where the students are introduced to basic conversational vocabulary.

Ukrainian Option - is open to all students in grades 1 to 6. Oral and written Ukrainian skills are taught. Students in grades 1-6 have 1 period of Ukrainian per week . Students are introduced to basic conversational Ukrainian. Cultural activities play an integral part in this program. The program is supported by the Lamont Bilingual Association (L.U.B.A.), which is a voluntary, parent directed association.

Optional Religion & "Safe and Caring Schools" - religious studies for both Catholic and Protestant denominations are incorporated into our school's program. Volunteers provide religious instruction for one period per week from October to May. If parents do not wish their child/children to receive religious instruction, students take the "Safe and Caring Schools" program. This program teaches children social and cooperation skills.
