Green Schools Initiative
Once again this year Lamont Elementary staff and students are participating in the SEEDS Environmental Foundation Green Schools projects. During the year, students and staff will continue to become more aware of the ways we can and do contribute to taking care of our planet Earth. Students and staff will complete projects either within their daily activities or in a specific class lesson related to their grade curriculum. These projects are then recorded on a chart by the office that helps us to see how far along we are to achieving our goal. We recently achieved JADE school status and we are now working toward reaching the EMERALD school title. We need to complete 500 projects in all to achieve this goal. Currently, we have completed 265 projects. We will continue to work at this through the rest of this year and begin fresh next year with more exciting and Earth friendly activities.
